My Journey

I have spent 25 years working in the nonprofit sector. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve had the best and worst of times. And there were times when I thought I wanted to do something else. But you know what? It’s all been worth it and I wouldn’t give anything for the experiences I’ve had; they have made me who I am today.

I have walked the Halls of Congress. I’ve toured countless unique event venues, traveled all over this beautiful country, met a former United States Secretary of State, politicians and numerous celebrities (my favorite being Gary Sinise).

I love what I do. I love getting up each morning and knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s life. How many people can really say that? The nonprofit world is not without its challenges, but it has been a gift to me. I cut my teeth in nonprofit at the ripe age of 25. My entire career has been dedicated to this amazing industry and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s time for me to give back - to give others what I have learned (sometimes the hard way) along the way, to share successes and failures and in the end, ensure that nonprofits are prosperous. It is important work. In fact, it is essential, for without nonprofit organizations, our communities would not thrive. This is my calling.
